Accurate measurements are the foundation of a perfect fit. Follow these instructions carefully, or visit a local tailor and upload your measurement sheet.
Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape parallel to the floor. Keep arms relaxed at your sides.
Wear a well-fitted bra when measuring.
Measure around the narrowest part of your torso, usually 1 inch above your belly button. Don't suck in.
The tape should be snug but not tight.
Stand with feet together and measure around the widest part of your hips and buttocks, approximately 7–9 inches below your waist.
Keep the tape parallel to the floor.
Measure from the outer edge of one shoulder to the outer edge of the other, across the back.
Have someone help you for accuracy.
With your arm slightly bent, measure from the top of your shoulder to your wrist bone.
This determines if the sleeves will be long, elbow-length, or short.
Measure from the top of your shoulder (or waist, depending on garment) straight down to where you want the hem to fall.
Specify knee-length, midi, or floor-length in your description.
Measure from the base of your neck down to your natural waistline at the front.
This helps ensure the bodice fits correctly.
Measure around the fullest part of your upper thigh.
Important for skirts and fitted trousers.
Measure from your crotch down to the desired trouser hem length (usually the ankle).
Stand straight with feet shoulder-width apart.
Measure around the fullest part of your chest, just under the armpits, with arms relaxed at your sides.
Breathe normally — don't puff out your chest.
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape comfortably loose. This is usually where you wear your trousers.
Measure over a thin shirt for accuracy.
Measure around the fullest part of your seat and hips, usually 7–8 inches below the waist.
Stand with feet together.
Measure from the end of one shoulder across the back to the end of the other shoulder.
This is critical for senator and agbada fits.
Measure from the top of your shoulder down to your wrist bone with your arm slightly bent.
Tell us if you prefer full or three-quarter sleeves.
Measure from the top of the shoulder straight down to your desired length (hip, knee, or ankle).
For agbada, we typically measure to the knee or floor.
Measure around the base of your neck where a collar sits. Add 0.5 inches for comfort.
Relevant for senator collars and formal shirts.
Measure around the fullest part of your upper thigh.
Important for fitted trousers.

Measure from your natural waist down to the floor, then subtract 1 inch for shoe clearance.
